Interview #4: The orphan sock syndrome
This program broadcast on France Culture totally enchanted us. In a spirit worthy of Raymond Queneau, the field investigation is an attempt at casuistic, sound and burlesque exhaustion of the question of orphan socks. It is about socks that we conscientiously slip into the drum of the washing machine, and of which we find only one foot when the laundry is finished! Researchers are looking very seriously into the question to provide answers to what remains a great mystery.
This report is an opportunity to discover the magnificent work of the Chaussettes Orphelines association founded by Marcia de Carvalo, which since 2008 has been working in the fields of textile recycling and social integration of residents of the Goutte d'Or district.
